STORY BEHIND THE SONG

This was the first track that inspired me to write a song on a professional level. This song was produced by the legendary Lonestarr Muzik and D’Artist. When I first heard the hook, it resonated with me on such a personal level. I wrote the lyrics back in August of 2019 when I was going through a season where I needed change in my life. I was trying to do life my own way at the time, and found myself deep in a hole with seemingly no way out. It was at this point in my life that I decided to let go of my own desires/mindset, and just let God be God. In the first verse, I write about three major themes in my life that needed to be changed: the way I treat others, my pursuit of financial success, and the need to please others in order to feel accepted. In the second verse, I continue to write about my struggle to let go of my financials pursuits in order to share my testimony and answer my calling as an artist. I hope this song serves as a reminder that there are so many things in life that carry more value than money.
